Protein drinks at 7-Eleven vs a whey tub: which is better value?

7-Eleven sells several ready-to-drink protein drinks, while whey in tubs is sold by specialist and online shops. This page covers what you find at 7-Eleven, how it differs from a tub, and how to compare value using the numbers on the label.

What protein is sold at 7-Eleven?

The reports cited at the end mention bottled high-protein milk, some labelled as containing whey, and a high-protein almond milk on 7-Eleven shelves in 2026. Most are sold as one bottle or carton per serving. Products and shelf prices change by branch and promotion. On 19 Oct 2026 we found no official price list we could verify online, so this page does not list prices per product.

Ready-to-drink bottle or whey tub?

  • Ready-to-drink: no mixing, cold and ready, bought one at a time; handy when you have no shaker
  • Whey tub: you mix it scoop by scoop; one tub lasts dozens of servings and you choose the amount
  • Ready-to-drink milk has milk protein and milk sugar, and some add sugar; always check sugar on the label

How to compare value

Work in baht per gram of protein; it works for bottles and tubs alike.

Bottle: bottle price ÷ protein per bottle

Tub: tub price ÷ (protein per scoop × scoops)

Made-up example: a 40-baht bottle with 20 g of protein costs 2.00 baht per gram. In our store, by label figures and current prices, the best-value whey is Ultimate Nutrition Prostar 100% Whey at 1.17 baht per gram and a mid-range one is Rule1 R1 Whey Isolate at 2.25 baht per gram. Put the numbers from the bottle you actually buy into the price-per-gram calculator, then compare with whey prices for every brand.

How to read a bottle label

  • Protein: in the nutrition panel, grams per serving and how many servings the bottle holds
  • Whey or milk: in the ingredients; either word means milk protein, so avoid it with a milk allergy
  • Sugar and energy: compare per bottle, not per 100 ml

How much protein is enough?

The International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) suggests about 20–40 g of protein per serving. A bottle with less may need to go with other food. How much to add per day is in how many scoops of whey a day.

Can I buy whey at Watsons or a pharmacy?

Watsons sells some brands of whey in tubs; it was one of the price sources we used for the store's temporary prices. Any shop can be compared with the same formula, and always check the Thai FDA number on the label.
